The weekend of 6th-7th July saw the church in Cowlinge host its first concert and its first flower festival: one adding to the other. Christopher Moore, the highly regarded organist, who serendipitously for us lives locally, gave listeners huge pleasure through the range of music he played. Christopher interspersed his playing with a lively account of the history of the organ in Europe and the UK: an altogether lovely concert, gifted to the church. For the concert, and Christopher’s generosity, we are greatly appreciative.
And the church looked very special and welcoming, decorated as it was with imaginative and beautiful flower arrangements created from village garden flowers and the wildflowers of Cowlinge hedgerows. To all contributors, both arrangers and providers of flowers and greenery, we give our warmest thanks.
It is fair to say that the Pimms served in paper cups before the concert was also well received……..
